Biology Midyear Review
As you review for this week's midyear exam, consider using the blog Comments section as a forum for questions. Be sure to read the questions and answers posted below before asking your own, in case the answer is already there. If you have answers for a classmate, or if you have found resources that are helpful (online animations, YouTube videos, etc.), please post those in response to your peers.
I think it would be helpful for you to review the chapters covered in the text, your class notes, digital notes that are posted under Downloads, past tests, quizzes, and projects. The test will be made up of multiple choice questions, short answer questions, longer answers (full sentences), and a short essay (where you'll be able to choose between topics). Test is Friday 1/20/12.
Topics covered:
- Chemical bonding and Macromolecules (chapters 4 + 5 + 11) - structure and function
- Cells – chapter 6 -- parts, organelles, and functions of each
- Cell Respiration – ch 7 -- overall goal, details of process, significance
- Photosynthesis – ch 8 -- overall goal, details of process, significance
- DNA structure, replication, and protein synthesis – ch 11
